DegenerateReaction-Diffusion System and Its Wave Solutions
摘要:
The history of thetheory of reaction-diffusion systems begins with the three famous works byLuther (1906), Fisher and Kolmogorov etc. (1937). Since these seminal papersmuch research has been carried out in an attempt to extend the original resultsto more complicated systems which arise in several fields. In this talk, weconsider the case that some species migrate from densely populated areas intosparsely populated areas to avoid crowding and investigate a more generalreaction-diffusion system by considering density-dependent dispersion as aregulatory mechanism of the cyclic changes. Here the probability that an animalmoves from the point x_1 to x_2 depends on the density at x_1. We apply thePoincare theory and transforms to analyze local behaviors around anon-hyperbolic point of codimension one in the phase plane and use the Liesymmetry reduction to explore bounded wave solutions. Numerical simulations andbiological explanation are presented.

冯兆生,美国德克萨斯大学(Universityof Texas Rio Grande Valley)大河谷分校数学统计学院终身教授,德克萨斯大学杰出成就奖获得者。主要研究方向有非线性动力学,分支与混沌系统,数学物理问题,数值计算和生物数学等。在数学、物理等国际学术刊物上共发表学术论文180余篇。近年在北美出版编辑五本英文著作/论文集,曾担任十余个国际学术会议的学术委员会委员,并在多个国际学术会议上做过大会报告。目前担任国际知名学术杂志Communications in Nonlinear Science and Numerical Simulation和ElectronicJournal of Differential Equations的主编,同时担任六个国际SCI杂志的编委。
